» Tropical Towers Description
This game is adapted for the S60V5 touch interface and the touch screen of your device is used extremely well. You use your finger to link to each level’s anchor points and the appropriate stick selection will be highlighted for you, depending on your positioning and that of any nearby structures, after you have placed the bamboo you can tweak the angle.
This simple control system is anything but restrictive, allowing an entire variety of wonderful constructions to be produced quickly and easily, from swaying towers to suspension bridges to giant wheels.
Once you have produced your structure you simply tap the play button which releases the monkeys from a wooden crate. As soon as you release them gravity kicks in and its time to pray they manage to collect the bananas and make it to the finish.
If you haven’t been sensible with your construction work, you could have a minor disaster on your hands.
As well as gravity, you have to take into consideration the strength of your structure. Any weak points will be exposed after you have released five monkeys to go swinging off them, therefore meaning your construction may need to be altered for the most practical path to be found.
You’ll emerge from many of the levels feeling that you could have tackled it in a completely different way, which is a great thing to say about any game, let alone one on a mobile platform.
Tropical Towers won the “2008 Best Casual Game” award at MWC in February, a title it truely deserves as it is one of the best I have ever played on a mobile phone, highly addictive whilst also being great fun with bright, vibrant graphics.
